Pella and Vergina Tour
We will pick you up from your hotel in Neos Marmaras at 6.25 am and head northwest towards the ancient city of Pella, the birthplace of Alexander the Great.
After a two and a half hour drive, we'll reach the archaeological site of Pella. This tour will take us back in time so we can admire the place that saw the birth of such illustrious characters as Aristotle, Euripides, Philip II, or Alexander the Great himself.
Did you know that Pella was the capital of Macedonia between the 5th and 4th centuries BC? We'll visit the different findings in the area and discover what life was like in Pella. We will admire the mosaics of the House of Dionysus, the House of the Abduction of Helen, the House of Poseidon, and part of the Agora.
After this exciting guided tour of Pella, we will head to our next destination: Vergina. Once there, you'll have two hours of free time to have lunch in a local restaurant. With our batteries recharged, we will meet up again to enter the museum of Vergina, where we'll find the tomb of King Philip II, father of Alexander the Great.
After learning all about the life of one of the most important conquerors in history, we will head back to Neos Marmaras and drop you off at your hotel at 7.30 pm, ending the tour.
