Explore the contrasts of the Bolivian city, where pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary culture converge, with this La Paz Guided Tour with Entrance Tickets. Dare to discover the charming capital.
La Paz Guided Tour with Entrance Tickets
We'll meet at 2:15 pm in downtown La Paz to begin our tour, lasting approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes, around the city's must-see locations and its surroundings. Our first stop will be the Killi Killi lookout point, where you can admire the best panoramic views of the city while our local guide explains the topography of the Bolivian capital.
Our next stop will be at Plaza Murillo, the main square in the city. Here we'll see the most important monuments in La Paz, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Government Palace and the Constitutional Assembly Palace. You'll feel the pulse of the city, and see the day-to-day life of the locals around this central square.
Following on, we'll move away from the centre of La Paz and see the replica of the semi-subterranean temple of the Tiwanaku culture. We'll continue our journey south until we reach the most impressive point on the tour, Luna Valley. Here in the middle of the Bolivian Altiplano, you'll be surrounded by impressive geological formations and natural labyrinths. The imprint of this unusual landscape will be unforgettable.
The tour will then go to the Libertador station, where we'll get on the La Paz cable car to admire the Bolivian capital from a bird's eye view. During the trip, we'll see the guardian of the city, the snowy Illimani mountain. At the Sopocachi station, the bus will be waiting for us to return to the city centre.
While touring the Witches' Market, we'll discover local traditions and superstitions. We'll see curious objects that are used to continue the practice of the ancestral Andean rituals. You'll also find out about the curious offerings made to the Pachamama.
The tour will continue descending the steep streets of La Paz. On our way, we'll find shops selling traditional and colourful local handicrafts. We'll arrive at the church of San Francisco, a wonderful example of Bolivian colonial baroque.
The tour will end next to the church, in the heart of the city. From here you can continue on your own, to feel the heartbeat of the Bolivian capital.
