The Babelsberg Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is one of Potsdam's natural and historical gems. Explore the beauty of the space on this fascinating guided walking tour.

Itinerary

Despite social unrest, economic instability and a number of assassination attempts, the Prussian Emperor William I always tried to make space in his summer diary to relax with his wife Augusta of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach at their bucolic lakeside palace in Potsdam's Babelsberg Park. Leave behind your own stress and daily routine as you explore the beautiful rolling hills, starting your tour at the picturesque Pförtnerhaus at the park's entrance.

Following the different paths of the great gardens, which are spread over almost 300 acres of land, you'll see the stunning architecture of the park's main monuments. Amongst them, Schloss Babelsberg, the summer palace of the royals, is a particular highlight.

The Babelsberg Park is located on the banks of the Glienicke River. As you stroll down the riverside, contemplate the Glienicke Bridge, also known as the Bridge of Spies for the role it played during the Cold War.

Finishing up your guided walking tour of the park, you'll have free time to explore the areas of Babelsberg that have most impressed you at your own pace.
