What to Expect
At the appointed time, we'll meet on Sá Ferreira Street in Copacabana and head to the dance hall. There, you'll move to the rhythm of Brazil's most popular music. Let's get those dancing shoes on!
Our class will start with a gentle warm-up to get into the right groove. We'll do stretching and breathing exercises to help you relax your muscles and get in tune with the rhythm of the samba.
After warming up, our instructor will demonstrate the basic samba steps, which combine hip, leg, and arm movements. Once we've mastered the basics, we'll move on to more advanced steps to build a complete dance routine. Don't forget to stay tuned to the music and rhythm!
Adding to the technique, you'll learn some tricks to improve your movements and dance with greater fluidity. You'll connect with the music on a deeper level, feeling how this blend of African and European rhythms envelops you.
Before the end of this 1-hour samba class, you'll have time to practice what you have learned and dance with the other students. Then, with new dance moves in your pocket, we'll bring the class to an end.
