If there are two archaeological sites which can compete with Chichén Itza they are Tulum, located on the beautiful Caribbean coast and Cobá, hidden in the deepest darkest jungle. Discover both on this two day excursion focussed on prehispanic culture.
Having picked you up from your hotel at the indicated time we hit the road to southwards towards Tulum, the Mayan city built between the 13th and 15th centuries.
Thanks to its privileged location on the shore of the Caribbean, Tulum offers some of the most perfect views Mexico has to offer and is one of the most photographed places in the country. We'll pass through its archaeological remains, getting to know its history and narrating its legends. And what's more you'll have an hour and a half of free time to swim off Tulum's paradise beaches.
We'll take a look at the Temple of The Descending God and Temple of the Frescoes, to get up close with ancient Mayan rituals, before beginning the return journey to the hotels of the Riviera Maya, where we'll arrive around 2 pm.
We'll pick you up from your hotel first thing in the morning an make our way to the Mayan archaeological site of Cobá. We'll be the first to arrive, and therefore miss the hottest hours of the day and the masses of tourists.
We'll tour the lagoons and cenotes of Cobá, one of the oldest Mayan cities and home to the highest pyramid on the Yucatán. We'll offer you a bicycle to help you climb to the top, from where you can observe the immensity of the jungle which surrounds. And if you don't want to take the bike, you are more than welcome to walk!
We'll discover some of the Mayan prophecies visiting Cobá's Mayan Stele (stone monument), as well as enjoying a refreshing bathe in the Choo-Há cenote, where you can also take a bike tour should you wish.
The tour finishes at your hotel around 4 pm.
The guide will pick you up at your hotel's designated excursion pick up zone, between 5:30 and 7:30 am depending on the location of your hotel. We'll send you the exact pickup time by email once the reservation has been made.
