Estancia Harberton & Martillo Island Penguins

When making your reservation, you'll have the choice of two options. Both depart and end at the same location at Ushuaia tourist pier, on Avenida Prefectura Naval Argentina.

Estancia Harberton & Penguins (8.5 hours)

After meeting at the tourist pier in Ushuaia, we'll set sail and begin our cruise down the Beagle Channel. Sailing past the Isla de los Pájaros, you'll soon realise how it earned its name, which means "Bird Island", when you spot the incredible biodiversity of birds here: albatross, ducks, gulls and more!

Continuing onwards, we'll reach Isla de los Lobos, where you should be able to see the large colony of sea lions basking on the rocks, and the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse. Look out for cormorants here! It was in this area of the Beagle Channel that the SS Cervantes sunk... do you know the story of the shipwreck?

Our cruise on the Beagle Channel, the natural border between Argentina and Chile, will take us eastwards to the coast of Martillo Island, where we'll see a colony of Magellanic penguins. After seeing these adorable creatures, we'll set our course to the pier of the famous Estancia Harberton. Disembarking here, you'll have two hours of free time to explore the estate and visit the Acatushún Museum, dedicated to the local wildlife, at your own pace. You can also choose to have a drink at the Manacatush tea house.

Finally, from Estancia Harberton we'll return to the tourist pier in Ushuaia by bus for around 5:30 pm.

Departure time: 9 am.

Martillo Island Penguins (4.5 hours)

We'll depart from the Ushuaia tourist pier at the scheduled time and sail down the Beagle Channel. We'll get to admire the amazing wildlife that lives in this area of the world as we pass Isla de los Pájaros and Isla de los Lobos and the Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse. Our route will continue onwards to Martillo Island, where we'll enjoy the unforgettable opportunity to see its penguin colony.

From Martillo Island, we'll make the return journey to the pier in Ushuaia, where we'll arrive back after four and a half hours cruising on the Beagle Channel. On the way back, we'll get to see historical places such as the Túnel and Remolino Estates and the half-sunk hull of the Monte Sarmiento Ship.

Departure times: 9 am and 4 pm.
