Discover a charming traditional rural estate when you take our fantastic trip to Estancia Harberton. You will also have a wonderful experience walking among penguins on Martillo Island.
Estancia Harberton Trip and Penguin Walk
After meeting at 2 pm at the tourist pier of Ushuaia, we will board a minibus and head east out of the city. After driving for around an hour and a half, we will arrive at the wonderful Estancia Harberton.
This picturesque ranch, founded in 1886 by Anglican missionary Thomas Bridges in an exclusive location on the shores of the Beagle Channel, is the oldest in Tierra del Fuego. Once there, we will go to the port where a boat will be waiting for us.
After crossing these austral waters for about 15 minutes, we disembark at Martillo Island, where a huge colony of Magellanic penguins will be waiting to greet you. This region area is home to more than 1000 of these wonderful creatures, and walking among them is an experience you will never forget.
We will then return to the boat and cross the Beagle Channel again back to Estancia Harberton, where we will visit the Acatushún Museum, dedicated to the local wildlife.
Our trip ends back at the original departure point in Ushuaia at around 8:30 pm.
