Alqueva Lake Boat Trip
Sail along a colossal reservoir and admire its hundred-year-old oak trees. With this boat trip on Lake Alqueva, you will see some of inland Portugal's most beautiful scenery.
Alqueva Lake Boat Trip
We will meet up at the time of your choice at the Alqueva reservoir where a boat will be waiting for us to take us on a tour of one of the largest artificial lakes in Europe. Let the adventure begin!
During the journey, we will hear all about the history of the dam and the biodiversity of the Guadiana river on which it is built. We will also pass the idyllic Herdade Monte da Tapada hill and the mouth of the river Degebe, which flows into the reservoir.
We will also sail around the picturesque small islands of the lake and, if the weather is good, we will look for a place to take a dip.
After a wonderful boat trip of an hour and a half, you can visit the Alqueva Interpretation Centre, where you will see a documentary about how this area of Portugal has changed thanks to the dam and its water supply.
The boat
The boat on which you will be taking the tour has a capacity of 55 people, with outside seating and a summer and winter deck. In addition, there is a refrigerator on board that you can use to store your drinks.
