We’ll begin this off-roading vehicle tour after picking you up from your hotel in Atins. Once seated, we’ll set off on a route that embraces the wild immensity of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.
As soon as we leave the paved road behind, we’ll travel along sandy trails that ripple into dunes rising and falling as if they were breathing. Did you know these shifting fields can move several meters (several yards) each year?
Before you know it, we’ll reach our first stop, Kite Lagoon, a mirror-like body of water surrounded by dunes and hardy shrub vegetation adapted to the arid climate. Here, you can swim in calm, warm waters that are home to small organisms surviving an endless cycle of rain and evaporation.
Afterward, we’ll return to the vehicle and head toward Gavião Lagoon, whose turquoise tones resemble a painting. According to locals, this lagoon reflects the colors of the sky better than any other due to its mineral composition. Get your cameras ready, because this landscape is postcard-worthy!
When hunger strikes, we’ll take a 1-hour break at a restaurant so you can enjoy lunch on your own. We’ll then continue the Lençóis Maranhenses tour in search of Maria Vitória and Gorjeta lagoons, each with its own unique character.
Our final stop will be at Tropical Lagoon, where we’ll wait for the sunset. As the sun goes down, it’ll light up the horizon in amber and violet tones. Can you imagine a better way to end the day?
