Safari Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel. We'll hop on a safari truck and head to the area of Bayahíbe, to the southeast of the Dominican Republic.
Traveling in this vehicle, you'll enjoy the incredible natural landscapes that this corner of the country offers until we reach a sugar cane plantation. We'll discuss the different uses this plant has and see what life is like in the settlements that exist around the sugar farms. Plus, we'll discover how the trapiche system works—a technique with a mill that makes it possible to transform sugarcane into exquisite Dominican rum.
Then, we'll head to a cigar factory to discover all the secrets of the production process of one of the country's most typical products.
Afterward, we'll head to a Dominican home farm to try cacao, cassava, tropical fruit, and even Dominican salami. Afterward, we'll travel to the city of Higüey. Here, you'll see the Basilica-Cathedral of Our Lady of Altagracia, one of the gems of the Caribbean's modern architecture.
Finally, we'll enjoy a buffet-lunch, including white rice, dark rice with beans, chicken creole, beef creole, spaghetti pomodoro, a salad bar, and fresh fruits.
We'll conclude the day trip by dropping you off at your hotel after 9 hours.
