Discover the natural and monumental wonders of Serbia on this tour of the Manasija Monastery, Resava Cave, and Lisine Waterfalls from Belgrade.
Description
After picking you up at your hotel at the designated time, the tour begins with a scenic drive through rolling green hills. As we approach our first stop, we'll be able to appreciate the grandeur of the Resava Gorge where the medieval Manasija monastery complex is nestled.
When we arrive, we'll immediately be struck by the impressive towers of the monastery that was built back in the 15th century. Beginning the tour, we'll learn all about the treasures hidden behind the walls, as well as about the history of its construction and reconstruction. Despite being destroyed and rebuilt several times over the centuries, visitors can still marvel at the preserved floor mosaics, wall frescoes, and original architectural features - a rare opportunity to appreciate Serbian medieval architecture and ancient Serbian art.
After visiting the monastery, we'll make our way to Resava Cave, an enormous underground system of karst caves spread over more than 11 hectares. During our tour of the cave, we'll see several natural galleries dug into the rock and a wide range of stalactites and stalagmites.
Once we're outside again, we'll continue our excursion to Lisine Waterfalls, a spectacular natural feature of more than 25 meters in height. You'll have two hours of free time in this beautiful spot, where you'll find a number of food stalls to try the local cuisine for lunch.
At the end of the day, we'll head back to Belgrade, where you'll be dropped off at your hotel around 4:30 pm.
