Tour Details
At your chosen time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and from there we'll begin this private tour of Berat. Ready to explore the city?
First of all, we'll visit Berat Castle, which stands on a hilltop 200 metres (656 ft) above sea level and is part of the legacy of the various civilisations that inhabited the city. During our visit, we'll see Ottoman-style architecture and several medieval churches.
We'll enter the churches of St. Mary of Blacherna and St. Nicholas, which contain 16th-century wall paintings that can still be seen today. Afterwards, we'll go to the castle's viewpoint, where we'll enjoy a privileged view of the city of a thousand windows.
The tour will continue by car to another of Berat's historic areas, the Gorica quarter, which is notable for its large stone houses built in the 18th century, and then cross the Gorica Bridge to the Mangalem quarter, where we'll learn about the architecture and the social and economic conditions that shaped Berat's culture and history.
To learn about the religious traditions and talk about the spirituality of the locals, we'll visit more of the city's landmarks: the Jewish Museum, the King Mosque and the Halveti Tekke monument.
Finally, we'll move on to the central and lively Bulevardi Republika Street, where we'll say goodbye after 3 to 3.5 hours of activity.
