Arcachon & Dune of Pilat Day Trip + Oyster Tasting
Day Trip Details
At the scheduled time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Bordeaux and set off to explore three of the highlights of the Aquitaine region.
After around 1 hour by minibus, we’ll arrive at one of the area’s most famous natural landmarks: the Dune of Pilat, the largest sand dune in Europe. We’ll climb the steps to the top and take in the sweeping views over Arcachon Bay, where the deep blue of the ocean meets the golden tones of the sand. It’s a striking contrast and well worth the climb.
Next, we’ll head into Arcachon itself. This charming seaside town is known for its fishing heritage and oyster farming. As we explore, you’ll see some of its most notable villas, including the former residence of Alexandre Dumas, and we’ll stop at a panoramic viewpoint with spectacular views over the bay.
Our tour will then continue to the oyster port of La Teste-de-Buch, one of the symbols of the Gironde region. Here, surrounded by views of the bay, you’ll enjoy a tasting of 6 to 12 fresh oysters accompanied by white wine. It’s one of the most authentic culinary experiences you can have along this stretch of the Atlantic coast.
After 5 to 6 hours together, we’ll return to the original departure point in Bordeaux.
