At the indicated time, we’ll meet at the meeting point you selected when booking and begin this street food tour of Bucaramanga. Come hungry!

First, we’ll try one of the city’s most iconic empanadas at Álvarez Park. Then, we’ll stroll through the streets to stop at another food stand, where we’ll taste an authentic Santander-style tamal. There, we’ll learn about its special preparation and the story of the women who’ve kept this recipe full of flavor and tradition alive.

Next, we’ll visit the vibrant Plaza Guarín market, where a delicious Santander-style arepa served with its traditional broth awaits us. We’ll also refresh our palates with fresh fruit while observing the everyday rhythm of this popular market.

We’ll continue the route to another local spot to enjoy the traditional Santander-style calentado, served with cassava and carne oreada. This meat is marinated with spices and salt, then sun-dried before being grilled or fried. It’s an ancestral preservation method that gives it a unique texture and an intense smoky flavor.

We’ll end the route on a high note by heading to the Concha Acústica theater. At this iconic cultural venue, we’ll cool off with an artisanal cholao: a colorful and sweet mix of shaved ice, fruit, and syrups. See you next time!

During the booking process, you can choose between the following options:

• Tour without hotel pickup: if you prefer to go directly to the meeting point, we’ll meet at the indicated time at Álvarez Park in Bucaramanga. The tour will end at the Concha Acústica theater.
• Tour with hotel pickup: if you’d prefer us to pick you up from your accommodation, this is the ideal option. We’ll take you to Álvarez Park, where the route will begin, and after the tasting near the Concha Acústica theater, we’ll drop you back at your hotel.
