Bucharest Private Tour

  • 23 reviews | 290 travellers
According to our expectations. Our guide Cristian was very kind and told us many things. At lunch time he recommended a restaurant, and accompanied us at our request, advising us what to eat and coming out very well in terms of quality and price. He recommended places to see on our next visit to Romania. Thank you very much Cristian!

Our private tours

If you’d like to explore Bucharest with an English-speaking guide all to yourselves, you can book any of our private tours. None of the tours is exclusively on foot. Both include a walking portion, but also car transfers between different points of interest, including scenic drives. Each tour lasts about 8 hours due to the included transfers, guided visits, and the group’s overall pace. Below, you can see the details of each one:

Tour of Bucharest

After picking you up from your hotel, we’ll begin a guided tour where you’ll discover the rich cultural heritage of Bucharest’s monuments. This tour includes admission and guided tours of the Palace of Parliament and the Village Museum. It also includes a panoramic view of the neoclassical Romanian Athenaeum building, as well as a walking tour of the Old Town.

Explore one of the most important buildings in the city, the Romanian Parliament building. The immense building holds the title of the world's heaviest building, amongst other records - admire its imposing architecture as you hear all about the history of Bucharest. You'll also stroll through the Herastrau Park, before reaching the Arcul de Triumf, the city's triumphal arch. This tour follows a similar route to our regular guided tour of Bucharest.

Tour of Communist Bucharest

If you want to explore the communist era of Romania’s capital, this is the tour for you. This tour includes admission and guided tours of the Palace of Parliament and Ceaușescu’s House. We’ll visit the city’s communist landmarks, such as Revolution Square, the memorial to the victims, and the iconic Grand Hotel Bucharest. We’ll also visit Constitution Square, a typical communist-era neighborhood, and take a metro ride between two stations from that period. The tour also includes walking tours of the Old Town, with a focus on what Bucharest looked like before the demolitions during the communist era. The route we'll take is similar to our regular tour of Communist Bucharest.

Hotel pickup

Your tour guide can either pick you up from your hotel in Bucharest (provided it is central), or you can meet them in another preferred location in the city centre. Please bear in mind that if you start your tour from your hotel, this will be included in the total tour time, so your sightseeing time will be reduced.

Important Info

If the Romanian Parliament building is closed, you will instead visit the Cotroceni Palace, the official residence of the President of Romania.
