Are you arriving on a cruise ship to Puntarenas? Then you can't miss this tour of Villa Lapas and the Tárcoles River, where you'll cross suspension bridges in this nature reserve and spot crocodiles!
Tour Details
At the agreed time, we'll pick you up at the Puntarenas or Caldera cruise terminal, and from there, we'll begin an approximately 1-hour trip to the Villa Lapas Nature Reserve. Upon arrival, you'll marvel at the dense tropical jungle of this region.
Once we're ready, we'll begin a hiking route of 1.55 miles (2.5 kilometers) along the Villa Lapas Sky Way. During this experience, you'll cross five hanging bridges suspended 164 feet (50 meters) over the ground, each with a length of almost 0.62 miles (1 kilometer). Are you brave enough? These bridges offer the best views of the valley.
Throughout this hike, we'll see monkeys, birds, and other species native to the tropical forest. For 1 hour, we'll get lost among winding trails with slopes and uneven terrain, surrounded by bushes, trees, and rocks. It'll be a true Tico adventure!
Once we've finished our hike, we'll enjoy fruit and water to revitalize before continuing our journey to the Tárcoles River. This river, known for its abundant population of crocodiles, will allow us to see these reptiles up close in their natural habitat. When we arrive, we'll hop on a boat to embark on this 1-hour ride. Get your cameras ready!
As we sail, you'll also spot monkeys and red-and-green macaws that soar over the skies in this area. After discovering the wild life of Tárcoles, we'll head to El Jardín, a restaurant and handicraft store where you'll have free time to enjoy a typical lunch. Be sure to order the casado!
Lastly, we'll explore the city of Puntarenas, the largest of the Costa Rica's Central Pacific.
Finally, we'll return to the cruise terminal, where we'll say our goodbyes after this 6-hour tour.
