Highlights of Canberra
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Canberra. Are you ready to explore the capital of Australia?
First up is Mount Ainslie Lookout, the perfect starting point to admire the city's architecture and learn a bit about its growth. Then, we'll drive around the grounds of the Royal Military College Duntroon—the Australian Army's training centre.
Next up, it's time to delve into Canberra's history at the National Capital Exhibition. Take a close look at Lake Burley Griffin and the Captain Cook Memorial. Continuing with a bit of history, we'll go to the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House). Here, you'll enjoy a guided tour of the building and uncover more than 50 years of Australia’s political history.
From the old to the new, we'll then head up Capital Hill to New Parliament House, where we'll also follow a tour around its main rooms. You'll have the chance to take a break for lunch at the Queens Terrace Café.
In the afternoon, we'll take a drive through Canberra’s diplomatic district. Firstly, we'll pass "The Lodge", the main official residence of the Prime Minister of Australia. Then, we'll spot some of the different embassies in Australia.
Afterwards, we'll take you around part of the Australian War Memorial. After this short guided tour, you'll be able to continue exploring the galleries that show Australia's role in different conflicts. The last part of our tour is the Memorial’s Last Post Ceremony, where you'll witness a dedication to those who have fallen in service for Australia.
Finally, after a total of 8 hours, we'll take you back to the starting point.
