Immerse yourself in the magic and mysticism of ancient Turkish culture with this traditional dance ceremony. Enjoy the spectacle of the Whirling Dervishes and let the rhythms of the Sufi music connect your mind and your spirit.
What to expect from the show
The image of the Whirling Dervish will be familiar to many - a man dressed in an elegant white gown spinning round and round in a trance-like state. However, the dance of the Dervish is much more than just a visual spectacle and this ancient Sufi tradition dates back 700 years.
The reason behind this timeless performance is the belief that the soul of man reaches perfection and ascends to heaven through this spinning meditation, which has been interpreted as imitating the Solar system orbiting the sun. The ceremony is surrounded by ancient Islamic mysticism and spiritualism.
Sufis are the spiritual section of Islam and they were the first to incorporate this dance into their religious rituals. In this one hour show, you will enjoy the Dervish ceremony which symbolizes love, the search for truth, and the route to perfection.
Whether a believer or not, this is an exclusive show will bring you closer to traditional Turkish culture and ancient spiritual practices.
