Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Catania to begin this exciting day trip to Mount Etna and Taormina. In under an hour's drive, we'll arrive at the tallest active volcano in Europe. Let's go!
We'll begin exploring Mount Etna's surroundings, known for its landscapes featuring solidified lava and ancient craters. For 2.5 hours, we'll discover its unique ecosystem and learn how the successive eruptions have shaped the scenery. Additionally, we'll venture into a lava cave, where we'll spend 30 minutes admiring this fascinating natural phenomenon.
Our next stop will be at a local producer located on the slopes of Etna. Here, we'll spend an hour tasting delicious typical regional products, such as olive oils, jams, and honey.
Next, we'll make our way to Taormina, one of the most beautiful destinations in Sicily. Here, you'll have 1.5 hours of free time to explore its charming cobbled streets, try the local cuisine, enjoy the views from the Greek Theatre, and relax in one of the picturesque terraces.
Lastly, we'll begin our journey back to Catania, where we'll drop you off at your hotel after a total of 9 hours.
