When booking, you can choose between two different options. Both include pickup at your hotel in Chaves at 9 am, English-speaking guide, and return transfer. Below you can see the particularities of each option:

Tour of Chaves, Boticas, and Montealegre

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Chaves to start this tour of the beautiful region of Trás-os-Montes, in the northeast of Portugal. We'll go to Alto Tâmega, one of the regions that make up Trás-os-Montes, to visit some of its most beautiful villages.

The first will be Montalegre, a town crowned by a castle dating back to the 13th century. We'll see this imposing building on the top of the hill and then visit the Montalegre Ecomuseum. Here, we'll learn more about the history and heritage of this beautiful town.

The next stop will be Boticas, a picturesque village in the heart of the Alto Tâmega. You'll be enchanted by its stone houses! Here we'll visit its Rural Museum, where we'll see old agricultural tools and other ethnographic objects. After the visit, we'll leave you with one hour of free time in Boticas so that you can have lunch and taste the Portuguese gastronomy.

After this break, we'll visit Chaves, where its medieval fortress stands out as a witness to the confrontations between the Portuguese and the Spanish. We'll pass by the Roman bridge of Trajano and the thermal baths of Chaves before dropping you off at your hotels. The tour will end at 5 pm.

Tour of Chaves, Valpaços, and Vila Pouca de Aguiar

This option will first take you to get to know Chaves, as in the previous tour. From here, we'll go to Vila Pouca de Aguiar, where we'll visit the Parque de Pedras Salgadas, a forest of great natural beauty.

We'll continue the tour to Valpaços, another town in Trás-os-Montes where we'll visit the Wine Museum and learn about the wine tradition of the area. We'll finish the tour at 5 pm at your hotel.
