Whale and Dolphin Catamaran Experience
Sail around the south of Tenerife on board a catamaran sailboat from which you will not only observe whales and dolphins but also hear the magical strange sounds that these mammals emit.
Whale and Dolphin Catamaran Experience
At the selected time, we'll meet at the port of Colon, located on Costa Adeje. We will board the eco catamaran boat, which has a capacity for up to 60 people, and set off in the search for these elusive sea creatures!
Due to the marine currents that circulate the Canary Islands, we will witness a variety of large cetacean creatures such as pilot whales and bottlenose dolphins. What you see on the day of your trip will depend on the weather conditions.
Not only will we see them swimming very close to us, but we will also learn to understand their behavior by listening to them. These animals emit a diverse range of characteristic sounds as a way of communicating. Their language is so complicated that many experts recognize it as a ‘dialect’.
Halfway through our journey, we will pause on our route so that you can also take a dip in the middle of the ocean. You can also recharge your batteries on board with the selection of sandwiches, snacks, and drinks (beer, soft drinks and mineral water). What's more, you'll have a chance to take a tip in the ocean as well.
Lastly, after three hours, we'll head back to the departure port, ending this incredible and unique experience.

Frequently asked questions
-
Q - Are there stairs to get onto the catamaran and to the bathroom?
A - Yes, there are stairs to get onto the boat, and to get to the bathroom on the second floor.
-
Q - On the afternoon tour, is lunch before or after swimming?
A - Normally we drop anchor to take a dip, and eat afterwards. But you are open to choose.
-
Q - Can dolphins and whales always be spotted during this tour?
A - Sea creatures, in their natural habitat, are unpredictable. The number of dolphins and whales we spot on our trip will depend on the marine currents, winds, weather conditions, and other circumstances beyond our control. The excursion takes place within the Teno-Rasca protected natural area, a whale sanctuary where they reside all year round in excellent conditions in terms of water temperature, depth, and access to food.
