We'll pick you up from your hotel at 5 am and set off on an exciting 2 or 3 day tour through some of the most fascinating parts of Durango.
Once we've met you at your hotel in Durango, we'll travel towards the Pueblo Mágico (Magic Town) of Mapimí, where we'll have a hearty breakfast. We'll then visit the Benito Juárez Museum, which is also the house where the politician lived during the period of the Mexican Republic.
Next, we'll stop at the Rosario Caves, from which phosphorite was extracted in the 20th century. We'll see the different salt formations and try to spot the elf and the piano. As we leave this area, we'll head to the abandoned village of Ojuela to visit the Santa Rita mine and walk across its suspension bridge.
At 4 pm, we'll reach the Silent Zone where a delicious lunch awaits. Once we've eaten, we'll dive right into the legends of this area, the Athena missile and its magnetic anomalies. In addition, we'll enter the Hikuri shrine so you can learn about shamanism and the importance of catci. We'll round off our first day with dinner, a bonfire and a fire ceremony.
After breakfast, we'll visit the railway station where the NASA train once stood. Later on, we'll go to the Tetas de Juana Hill where we'll take some photos. We'll then pass by the abandoned mercury mines, the Carillo Station and the salt flats. As we observe these three spots, we'll discuss the mysteries that shroud them and the local area.
Our next stop will be at a symbolic ceremony in honour of the air, after which we'll return to the camp for lunch. In the afternoon, we'll attend the ritual of the earth. It'll then be time to return to your hotel in Durango, where we'll arrive at 2:30 pm.
When making your booking, you can choose to extend the tour by one day. In this case, we'll go to the old Los Remedios estate. Here, we'll see the remains of this historic area and have fun in the thermal baths at El Ojo de la Cueva, where we'll also be guests at the water ritual.
After this experience, we'll return to the Silent Zone for lunch. We'll then head back to your hotel in Durango, arriving at 2:30 pm.
This tour includes 1 or 2 nights' accommodation in a cabin for 4, 6 or 8 people with a shared bathroom. If you'd like, you can also camp outside in a tent for 4, 6 or 8 people.
