Düsseldorf Beer Tour
Tour Details
We’ll meet in front of the K20 Art Gallery at the scheduled time. Did you know that Düsseldorf’s Old Town is home to “the world’s longest bar”? It’s not a single counter, but rather an incredible concentration of over 300 bars and taverns packed into just half a square kilometer.
Along the way, we’ll make 4 strategic stops at the most famous breweries to discover their most prized treasure: Altbier, a traditionally fermented beer that is a symbol of the city’s pride. We’ll also reveal how Düsseldorf’s geography influenced beer brewing and share anecdotes about the master brewers who gave these establishments their names.
First, we’ll head to Brauerei im Füchschen, famous for its lively atmosphere and its copper-colored beer. Here we’ll meet the Köbes, the traditional bartenders, and learn about their unique way of serving.
Next, we’ll discover the history of the Schnitz family at Brauerei Zum Schlüssel and why their recipe is considered one of the most classic and smoothest on the palate. From there, we’ll head to the Brauerei Schumacher. Founded in 1838, it is Düsseldorf’s oldest altbier brewery.
Finally, we’ll visit the Brauerei Uerige, where they serve the favorite beer of “beer purists” due to its intense bitterness and distinct hoppy character.
Here we’ll say our goodbyes after a 2-hour tour.
