Off-Road Tour of Santana, Pico del Aieiro, & Punta de São Lourenço
Activity Details
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Funchal in an off-road vehicle and head northeast to admire the natural beauty of this part of the island.
Our first stop will be Pico do Arieiro. At 1,818 meters (5,965 feet), it offers incredible panoramic views and is the third-highest peak in Madeira.
Next, we will arrive in Santana to see the oldest thatched-roof houses on the island, which have stood for over 250 years. These picturesque structures are more than just dwellings, they're symbols of Madeira's enduring spirit and architectural heritage.
We'll continue the tour through Porto da Cruz, where you will learn about the ancient processes that have made Madeiran rum famous worldwide. The adventure culminates at Ponta de São Lourenço, also known as "Madeira's Dragon Tail." You will love its vibrant volcanic colors and dramatic cliffs!
Finally, we will return to the starting point after seven hours of exploration.
