Join us on a private tour of the Polish city of Gdansk, located on the Baltic Sea. We'll explore all of the cultural must-sees in this magical place full of rich history.
When booking, you can opt for one of the following routes. All of them last 4 hours.
Our private tour of Gdansk starts at the medieval Golden Gate, in the historic center of the Polish city. From there, we'll walk along Dluga Street until we reach Long Market, a huge pedestrian square that was originally built as a merchant road in the 13th century.
We'll continue discovering the essential landmarks of this port city, and learning all about its fascinating history. You'll encounter the beautiful Town Hall and the iconic Neptune's Fountain, where you'll find out why this Roman God is so prominent in the region of Gdansk.
Along the way, we'll admire the elegant medieval architecture of the buildings, and discover some amazing fun facts about a city which was once both an important hub for the Nazi Party and, at the same time, the Free City of Danzig.
Our private tour will also take us to Artus Court, historically a meeting point for merchants and inhabitants which led it to become the beating heart of Gdansk. You'll also have the chance to enter the Amber Museum where you'll discover a treasure trove of pieces made of amber.
Our private guided tour will end at St. Mary's Church, one of the largest brick churches in the world.
In this case, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Gdańsk and from there, we'll travel by vehicle to the site of the Great Synagogue, in the former Jewish ghetto on Granary Island.
We'll also stop at the Kindertransport monument. We'll learn about the history of the famous Jewish Theatre in Gdansk and discover what the Kindertransports were. At the end of the tour, we'll see the only synagogue that remains in the city: the New Synagogue in Wrzeszcz, built in 1926.
On the way back to your hotel, your guide will tell you about other places you can discover on your own after this tour.
In this case, we'll also pick you up from your hotel in Gdańsk and from there, we'll travel by vehicle to Westerplatte, the symbolic place where the first shots of World War II were fired on September 1, 1939. We'll take a walk through the old military post, see the sentry boxes and the ruins of the barracks, and learn how a small Polish garrison resisted the German forces for seven days.
We'll continue on to the Gdansk Shipyard, the birthplace of the Solidarity movement. We'll also visit the Monument to the Fallen Shipyard Workers, a memorial that pays tribute to the victims of the 1970 protests.
