Head into the enchanting region of Longshen and discover the famous rice terraces of China on this brilliant tour from Guilin. You'll learn all about the local, rural way of life, with the help of our professional English-speaking guide.
We'll pick you up at your hotel at the scheduled time and head north toward Longsheng, an area of Guilin famous for its tiered rice terraces. During the drive, which is about two hours, we'll get to enjoy the classic scenery of rural China.
When we arrive, we'll take you to the ticket office so you can buy your tickets for Longji. Once we have the tickets, we'll hop into a vehicle that will take us to the Longji parking lot, a ride of about half an hour. Once there, you can choose to take a sightseeing vehicle that will drive you to Jiulongwuhu, a five-minute ride, or walk up, which is about an hour and a half hike. It's totally up to you!
Once we reach our destination, we'll take a walk through the famous Longji rice fields and discover the Chinese origin of its name: “Dragon's Backbone.” With the help of your English-speaking guide, we'll learn about the irrigation system set up by the local farmers and enjoy a panoramic view of the mountainside.
After soaking up the scenery at Longji, we'll walk to Qixingbanyue, the Seven Stars Around the Moon viewing platform, where we'll have incredible views of the area. We'll hike down this mountain and pass through the village of Ping'an, where we'll give you some free time to grab lunch on your own.
Finally, we'll head back to the Longji parking lot, where the vehicle will be waiting to take us back to your hotel in Guilin, ending this tour, which lasts eight hours in total.
The best time of the year to enjoy the rice terraces is from June to October. When making your reservation, you should bear in mind that local restaurants are closed from November to April.
