If you love animals and the environment, then our Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Sea Turtle Release is perfect for you! You'll learn all about the conservation of these animals and help them find their way into the water.
Ixtapa Zihuatanejo Sea Turtle Release
Between 3:45 pm and 4:30 pm, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo and head to the sea turtle sanctuary in the north of the city.
As soon as we arrive, we'll learn first-hand about the sea turtles' life cycle. We'll also hear about the different threats that have contributed to this species' endangered status, as well as the importance of conservation to protect other marine animals from extinction.
Afterwards, we'll discover how the eggs are collected and protected, and how the hatchlings are cared for so they can develop properly and thrive in the wild. These impressive creatures have been living on planet Earth for over 100 million years!
Next, we'll take two baby sea turtles out of their nest and leave them to rest in some containers. During this time, they'll become active and we can then take them to the shore to release them and watch them complete their journey to the water.
Once we've waved off our sea turtles, we'll return to the centre of Zihuatanejo and take you back to your hotels between 6:45 pm and 7:15 pm.
