The best way to truly understand a culture is to immerse yourself in it. If you're in Jasab, you can enjoy an unforgettable experience by trying on traditional Omani attire. We'll meet you at the Atana Musandam Hotel, where you'll select your favorite outfit and learn how to wear it.
For men, the Omani national dress includes the dishdasha, a long, collarless tunic that typically reaches the knees. While usually white, it can also come in shades of brown, purple, or black. This elegant robe is paired with the muzzar (turban), assa (walking stick), and the khanjar (ceremonial dagger).
For women, the traditional attire consists of the sirwal, a long dress worn over trousers, complemented by the lihaf, a vibrant headscarf. These ensembles are made from brightly colored fabrics and paired with sandals. To complete the look, you'll adorn yourself with intricate jewelry, cosmetics, and handmade ornaments, such as the batoola – a silver forehead ornament traditionally worn at weddings and celebrations.
