Spot elephants, zebras, lions, antelopes, and other animals of the Rwandan savannah with this Akagera National Park & Lake Muhazi private safari. You'll also enjoy bird-watching around the lake.
At 5 am, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kigali and driven to Akagera National Park, one of the most important natural areas in Rwanda. During the three-hour drive, you'll have breakfast on board the jeep, including coffee and sweets.
The safari will start by visiting the most biodiverse areas of the savannah. This area is home to numerous elephants, buffaloes, zebras, antelopes, and impalas, among many other species that we'll try to spot as we drive through the park.
Akagera's fauna is also very rich in felines and is home to a large colony of leopards and lions. We'll also try to spot other species of mammals such as hyenas, jackals, and baboon monkeys, and we may even see several herds of hippos!
At the end of the safari, which lasts three hours, we'll head to the picnic area of the park. There we'll have a tasty lunch including Rwandan burritos, samosa pastries, fresh fruit, and banana cake. After lunch, we'll leave the Akagera savannah behind and drive to Lake Muhazi.
We'll take a tour along the shores of the lake to try to spot the main bird species that inhabit this area. Keep your eyes peeled for the mousebird, the African white heron, and the grey-necked crowned crane. Keep your eyes on the sky!
Finally, we'll return to your hotel in Kigali, arriving at 5 pm.
