If you’ve just got to Kingston, can you think of a better way of exploring the most important spots in the capital of Jamaica than on this free walking tour?
Free Walking Tour of Kingston
We'll meet at 9 am at the entrance to Emancipation Park ready to start this free tour of some of the most important and emblematic places in Kingston.
We’ll start by exploring this huge green area, which is more than 2 hectares large. Unsurprisingly, it’s a favourite spot for locals to come and eat and relax. You’ll also be able to admire its fountains and, of course, the Redemption Song statue.
From here, we’ll take a public bus to the city centre. When we arrive, we’ll head to the National Museum. Inside this museum, you’ll be able to find out more about the Rastafari Movement which started in 1930 in the most socially deprived neighbourhoods in Kingston. In fact, Bob Marley did a lot to raise awareness of the movement!
Our next stop will be at the National Gallery of Jamaica, where you’ll be able to delve into the world of Caribbean art. As we leave the art gallery, your expert guide will give you some recommendations for nearby places to eat.
What happens next is up to you, we can either meet again after lunch and accompany you back to Emancipation Park, or you can continue exploring at your own leisure.
- Unfortunately, you can't book this free tour for groups of more than 6 people. If you're a large group, you could always book our guided tour of Kingston.
