Nelson, Oatman & Route 66 Day Trip
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up from your hotel in Las Vegas and head south to begin this day trip. Are you ready? Let’s go!
Our first stop will be Nevada’s old mining region, specifically the ghost town of Nelson, located in the rugged terrain of Eldorado Canyon. There, we’ll stroll among perfectly preserved 19th-century buildings, rusted machinery, and vintage vehicles that look straight out of a movie.
Afterward, we’ll continue southeast through Arizona along the historic stretch of Route 66, often referred to as “The Main Street of America.” During this panoramic journey, you’ll enjoy the contrast between rugged mountains and the solitude of the desert.
Next, we’ll arrive in Oatman. Nestled in the Black Mountains, this town feels like a Wild West movie set. We’ll walk along its wooden sidewalks and greet the famous wild donkeys that roam freely through the streets. Here, you’ll have around 1 hour of free time to eat and recharge with some local cuisine.
With our batteries recharged, we’ll continue to Kingman, where we’ll visit the Route 66 Museum. Located inside a former power plant, this exhibition features classic cars, vintage signs, and exhibits about westward migration.
Before returning, we’ll make a brief stop at the Kingman Railroad Park. There, you’ll have the chance to admire the Santa Fe Steam Locomotive No. 3759, an iron giant symbolizing the power of the railroad during the expansion of the United States.
Finally, we’ll return to the starting point, where we’ll say our goodbyes after a total of 9 to 11 hours, depending on traffic.
