We'll pick you up from your hotel in Leon and then set our sights on San Miguel de Allende, considered one of Mexico's most beautiful cities.
Following a brief 2-hour road trip, we'll reach our first stop of the day: the San Miguel vineyards. Fun fact: this state, Guanajuato, is home to a rich winemaking tradition. Get ready to uncover the fascinating history of the region's wine as we delve into the intricate details. Plus, we'll discuss the top wineries that have shaped the area's winemaking legacy.
Once we arrive, we'll begin our route through the vineyard grounds. We'll set off on a guided tour of the different installations throughout the winery that all play an important role in winemaking.
To truly grasp the winemaking process, we'll treat ourselves to a wine-tasting experience complemented by a delectable cheeseboard to savor the flavors of the wines crafted on-site. Afterward, you'll have some free time at the San Miguel Winery Restaurant to enjoy a delightful lunch at your own pace.
From there, we'll continue our day's route through the historic downtown of San Miguel de Allende. Embarking on a walking tour, we'll stroll the colorful and vibrant streets as we uncover the quirky characteristics of these colonial buildings and churches.
During our tour, we'll stop in front of several significant monuments such as the House of Captain Ignacio Allende, the temple of La Purísima and its ancient cloister, the church of San Miguel Arcángel and the Ángela Peralta Theater.
Then, we'll begin our return journey to Leon, bringing our day to an end about 7 hours later at your hotel.
