3-Day Amazon Rainforest Tour
Day 1
We'll meet at 8 am in front of the Ethnographic Museum in Leticia and, when we're all together, we'll set off on this three-day adventure through the Amazon jungle.
We'll kick off the tour by sailing down the Amazon River. During the boat ride, we'll talk about the variety of plant and animal life in this area known as Earth's lungs. If we're lucky, we may spot some animals! After about 30 minutes, we'll reach the indigenous community of Gamboa or Valencia, and you'll have the opportunity to learn about their ancient traditions and way of life.
After refreshing and recharging with a buffet lunch, we'll begin an expedition through the jungle in search of medicinal plants. You'll learn how to identify them, as well as the properties of each species. We'll also visit Camungo or San Martin Lake, where you'll be able to relax, swim, and watch exotic birds.
Finally, we'll set up camp and enjoy an unforgettable sunset in the jungle shared between Colombia, Brazil, and Peru. In the evening, we'll go observe the alligators and other animals before returning to rest until the next day. Please note that this final activity is dependent on weather and water conditions.
Day 2
We'll start the second day with a delicious breakfast at the camp and then we'll embark on an expedition through the jungle in search of sloths, monkeys, and other species native to the Amazon. Get your cameras ready!
After lunch in the jungle, we'll go fishing in the Amazon, it's time to test your patience and instinct. Afterwards, we'll return to the camp to regain our strength before the night expedition, where we'll observe tarantulas and scorpions.
Exhausted and contented, we'll return to camp and rest until the next day.
Day 3
We'll spend the last day of the tour swimming in the Amazon River and watching dolphins in their natural habitat. We'll spend a morning immersed in nature, learning to listen to the environment around us. After lunch, we'll pack up camp and say goodbye to the jungle. We'll be back in Leticia at around 5 to 6 pm.
Accommodation
This activity includes two nights camping in the Amazon jungle with tents, hammocks, and plastic covers to avoid mosquitos.
