Take on class I and II rapids in one of the most beautiful riverbeds in Guanacaste Province with this packrafting activity in the Colorado River canyon. You're bound to fall in love with the scenery!
Packrafting Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Liberia to make our way to the Colorado River canyon. After a brief 10-minute trip, we'll reach the source of this riverbed in the heart of Guanacaste. Excited to start?
While we provide all the necessary packrafting equipment, we'll explain the necessary safety measures and the route we'll follow down the canyon of the Colorado River. The packrafts are made up of individual inflatable rafts which are easier to manoeuvre. Soon, we'll be travelling down class I and II rapids. Don't stop paddling!
This 2-kilometre (1.24-mile) route, which will take approximately 2 hours will take us to unparalleled Costa Rican landscapes. We'll be surrounded by 10-metre (32-ft) tall canyon walls that are home to petroglyphs over 1500 years old. As we row, we'll be able to see howling monkeys, capuchin monkeys, and a great number of native birds.
At the end of the activity, we'll make our way to an area where you'll have some showers available, as well as a shop selling refreshments if you want. Lastly, we'll hop onto the vehicle again and make our way back to your hotel, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 4 to 5 hours on this adventure.
Hotel Pickup
Please note that hotel pickup and drop-off services are included in this activity for those staying in Liberia. If your hotel is outside this designated area, we'll meet you instead at the activity's starting point: Hotel Cabañas La Teca.
