Do you want to see one of the best-preserved Jesuit churches in Baja California? On this excursion to the San Javier mission, we'll learn about the history of this temple and learn about the relationship between the Spaniards and the Native Americans.
Tour to the San Javier Mission
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Loreto to begin this excursion to the San Javier mission. We'll travel by minibus for approximately 1 hour until we arrive at our destination.
The tour will start by learning all about the mission of San Francisco Javier Viggé Biaundó, a Jesuit temple whose origins date back to the late 17th century.
We'll enter the building to admire its sculptures and paintings while we learn about the history of this monument. We'll talk about the Spanish missions in Baja California and discover how the different orders spread the Catholic doctrine among the Native Americans.
During the guided tour of the San Javier mission, we'll see the cemetery of the temple, walk through fruit orchards, and visit the oldest olive tree garden in the region.
Finally, we'll return to the minibus and take a break to enjoy a typical Mexican lunch. The meal will consist of handmade tortillas and fresh cheese, as well as drinks.
After 4.5 hours of excursion, we'll finish the activity back at your hotel.
