Immerse yourself in the natural wonders of Cordoba, Argentina, on this thrilling hiking adventure through the majestic Los Gigantes mountain range and the enchanting Lolu Valley underground river.
What's in store:
We'll meet up at 8 am at Route RP28 in Los Gigantes, where we'll prepare for our exhilarating 16 km (10-mile) trek. During this journey, reaching altitudes of up to 2100 meters (6,890 feet), we'll traverse canyons, valleys, and ravines within the sprawling Valle de los Lisos Reserve in the heart of the Los Gigantes mountain range.
Our hike begins by exploring the picturesque Anjo and Gabino valleys. Along the way, we'll encounter three more natural marvels: the Búho Ravine and the Guibra Valley. As we navigate these gems of Cordoba, we'll gain insights into the region's diverse wildlife and plant life.
Our hike continues to the Cuchilla and Valle viewpoints, where we'll be treated to breathtaking views of Cordoba's landscapes. Following a brief break to refuel with your packed lunch, we'll venture into the Lolu Valley underground river—an extraordinary highlight of the journey!
To access the riverbed, we'll navigate narrow rock walls, descending to depths of up to 40 meters (130 feet). This section of the hike is the most challenging, as the terrain becomes steeper.
Our adventure concludes at 6 pm as we return to the meeting point, leaving you with tons of fun memories and photos of Cordoba's natural wonders.
