Muharraq Private Day Trip
At 9 am, we'll meet you at your hotel in Manama. We'll hop into our car or minibus and drive to the neighbouring city of Muharraq, which was the capital of Bahrain until 1923.
The first stop of the day will be at the house of Isa ibin Ali Al Khalifa, who ruled the country for 63 years. This 19th-century building has several rooms and courtyards that'll offer a glimpse into the history of Bahrain.
Next, we'll head to the Shaikh Ebrahim Centre, a cultural space dedicated to philosophy, literature and poetry. Here, you'll find numerous examples of beautiful Arabic calligraphy.
We'll also visit the Abdullah Al Zayed House, home of the founder of the country's first newspaper. After immersing ourselves in the history of Bahrain's media, we'll head into the Kurar House, where we'll learn about how craftsmanship, family and tradition are interwoven.
If you'd like to do some shopping, it's your lucky day! The last stop on our tour will be at the Muharraq souq. We'll then return to your hotel and finish our day four hours after the start time.
