On this private tour of Matanzas, we'll see the bridges, cross the Canímar River, visit an old country house and discover the Saturn Cave. A complete tour!
Tour Description
After picking you up at your hotel at the indicated time, we'll head towards the highest part of the city and reach the Bacunayagua viewpoint. From there, we'll begin to learn about the history of Matanzas while we admire the Bacunayagua bridge and the leafy Yumurí valley.
Afterwards, we'll hop into our vehicle to visit the historic centre of Matanzas. We'll pass by the church of San Pedro Apostle and the La Concordia bridge until we reach the French quarter. After surprising you with its typical architecture, we'll continue north in search of the hermitage of Monserrate, perched atop a hill that will give us the best views of Matanzas.
We'll continue the tour to the ruins of the central pier of the Canímar River. There, we'll follow the same route as the slaves of the 16th and 17th centuries. Then, we'll drive to the banks of the river, where we'll cross the riverbed until we reach an authentic country house.
In this cosy place, we'll be greeted with a welcome cocktail, and we'll be able to enjoy this drink on deckchairs overlooking the river. We'll learn about the history of this old residence while we go in search of the ruins of its warehouses and the abandoned lighthouse. Afterwards, you'll have some free time to enjoy a delicious typical Cuban lunch.
Lastly, we'll visit the Saturn Cave, where we'll enter one of the most impressive caves in Cuba thanks to its spectacular cenote of intense turquoise tones. You'll fall in love with this underground natural spot!
Finally, we'll return to your hotel, where we'll say goodbye 10 hours after the initial pickup.
