Miraflores & Buenos Aires Neighborhoods Free Tour
Tour Details
At the indicated time, we’ll meet at the San Antonio tram station to begin our walking tour through the Miraflores and Buenos Aires neighborhoods, located in Medellín’s Comuna 9. Ready to explore their streets?
We’ll start in the Miraflores neighborhood, where we’ll learn about Colombia’s first modern tram system, one of the infrastructures that symbolizes Medellín’s rebirth and its commitment to sustainable mobility and social integration.
Along the way, we’ll discuss the historical context that shaped the city during the 1980s and 1990s and understand how Medellín chose to transform its past through social urbanism, culture, and public transportation.
During the tour, we’ll also visit the traditional Buenos Aires neighborhood, a lively area that today reflects the city’s resilient spirit and its ability to reinvent itself.
This tour does not focus on Pablo Escobar, but rather on what came afterward: the transformation of the city, its new urban projects, and the story of a community that chose to change its future.
After 3 hours of walking, we’ll end the tour at the Casa de la Memoria.
