The free walking tour of Melbourne is the best way to get a feel for Australia's cultural capital. Discover its monuments and unforgettable sights on this free tour.
Free Tour of Melbourne
We will meet at the Gordon Reserve meeting point, a park located between the Parliament House and the Old Treasury Building. From here, we begin our free walking tour of Melbourne's historic centre. This city is also known as the cultural capital of the country.
This tour is an introduction to Australia'’s second most important city and focuses on the most emblematic places and monuments.
We will pass through Federation Square, one of the main tourist attractions and host to more than 2,000 cultural events each year. We will also admire the most representative buildings of the gold rush.
Our free tour ends very close to the famous Old Melbourne Gaol, which opened in 1845 to house prisoners of the Victorian state. Today it remains one of the best conserved buildings in Melbourne. Your knowledgeable guide will reveal fascinating facts, including that Australia's most notorious bandit was hanged in this place. At the end, we take you to a typical Australian pub where you can try the local gastronomy (food not included).
