If you're a fan of Mexican flavors, you won't want to miss this food tour of Mérida. A delicious experience!
Mérida Food Tour
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Mérida letters. Once everyone's here, we'll kick off a food tour packed with flavor.
First, we'll stop at a local spot to enjoy an authentic Mexican gordita. Do you know what they are? They're tortillas stuffed with chicharrones, beans, or whatever fillings you like best. Next, we'll head into Eulogio Rosado Park to try poc chuc. This typical dish is made with pork marinated in sour orange, so good!
We'll continue to San Benito Market to cool off with some fruits like huaya, nance, or soursop. There, we'll also treat our taste buds to traditional tamales wrapped in a leaf. Pure Mexican style!
Then, we'll head to Lucas de Gálvez Market for a plate of pork carnitas seasoned with herbs and spices. What could make this experience any better? We won't leave without trying some delicious tacos al pastor, the most famous ones in the whole country. We'll top off the tour with some fruit ice cream.
Finally, we'll wrap up this 3-hour activity back at the meeting point.
