Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert Day Trip
Day Trip Details
We’ll meet at the scheduled time at the Mosson tram station and, from this point in Montpellier, set off toward our first stop: Mourèze.
As soon as we arrive, you’ll be amazed by its famous dolomitic cirque, a lunar-like landscape where limestone rocks have been sculpted into curious shapes over the centuries. After exploring this one-of-a-kind natural setting, we’ll continue on to the shores of Lake Salagou.
Feeling hungry? We’ll take a break so you can enjoy lunch at your own pace while taking in views of the impressive Hérault Valley. Don’t forget to bring a picnic lunch! Tables and chairs will be waiting for you by the deep blue waters of the lake, making for a truly memorable break.
Our next stop will be the Devil’s Bridge, a medieval gem listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Did you know it marks the gateway to the spectacular Hérault Gorges? After taking photos of this historic landmark, we’ll head to one of the most beautiful villages in France: Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.
There, we’ll stroll through its charming medieval streets and learn about its most iconic monument, the Abbey of Gellone, an important stop on the Camino de Santiago.
Finally, we’ll make our way back to the starting point, where the tour will end after a total of eight hours.
