At the designated time, we'll meet at the pickup point in Morelia, from where we'll begin a journey of approximately 4 hours toward the coast of Michoacán. Let's go!
Once we reach the town of La Mira, we'll make a stop so you can grab some lunch. Then, we'll head to Playa Las Peñas, a privileged beach for humpback whale watching. This rocky coastline is known for its giant boulders, is the perfect place for these majestic whales between November and March. Stunning!
On board a speedboat, we'll go in search of the humpback whales so you can observe them up close. During the journey, if you're lucky, you can spot other marine animals like dolphins, sea lions, and turtles.
After a speedboat ride of 1 to 2 hours, we'll return to Playa Las Peñas, where the camping site where you'll spend the night awaits. You'll have the night off to enjoy the beach under the stars, eat dinner at a restaurant near the camping site, and rest with the sound of the ocean. Sounds great, right?
Imagine waking up to the sound of waves crashing gently on the shore and the fresh sea breeze. Since the moment the sun starts to show on the horizon, you'll have the entire morning off to enjoy the beach at your own pace. You can sunbathe on the sand, swim in the sea, or simply relax in this peaceful environment. You'll feel like you're in paradise!
Of course, you can also enjoy breakfast and lunch at one of the local restaurants on your own. In the afternoon, after lunch, we'll begin our journey back to Morelia. We'll reach our starting point approximately at 11 pm.
This tour includes one night's stay at a camping site on Playa Las Peñas. We'll sleep in tents that can hold up to 2 to 4 people. If you book for only 1 person, you'll be assigned a tent for 2 people that you can use individually. If you book for 3 people, you'll have a tent for 4 people. Please note that the camping site includes mattresses, but it does not have bedding or sleeping bags. The camping site has shared bathrooms.
