Tour Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Kutafiya Tower, the access point to the Kremlin monuments. On our tour of this giant walled space, we'll visit its principal points of interest. Let's go!
We'll begin by visiting Cathedral Square. This is a complex of religious buildings, including three Orthodox churches: the Cathedral of the Assumption, the Cathedral of the Archangel and the Cathedral of the Annunciation. This large space was the coronation site for Russian tsars.
After visiting the interior of these cathedrals, we'll return to the square, where your attention will be drawn to a towering tower crowned by a golden dome: Ivan the Great Bell Tower. During the French invasions, Napoleon's troops tried unsuccessfully to blow up its structure.
The tour will also stop at Tsar Cannon, one of the largest cannons in the world, measuring 890 mm (35 in). First used in the 16th century during the reign of Tsar Fyodor I, it weighs almost 40 tonnes. A few metres away is Tsarina Bell, the largest bell in the world, weighing over 200 tonnes.
We'll continue our visit to the Kremlin to see the Kremlin's civil and government buildings from the outside: the Grand Palace, the Senate, the Congress Palace, the offices of the Government of the Russian Federation...
We'll end the tour 2 hours later in the Alexandrovsky Gardens, located on the west wall of the Kremlin.
