At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your selected meeting point to start this day trip to Pompeii and Herculaneum. Farewell, Naples! We're going back in time.
After about half an hour, we'll have arrived at Herculaneum, one of the most important archeological sites in Italy. There, you'll have 2 hours of free time to explore this ancient Roman city, which, like Pompeii, was buried by lava in 79 AD.
As you make your way through the grounds, you'll see some of the most important remains of Herculaneum, like the Casa dei Cervi and the Sacello degli Augustali. Along the way, the included audio guide will share fascinating insights into what daily life was like in the city, and what it's final day looked like.
Following our time in Herculaneum, we'll get back in the vehicle to continue the trip to Pompeii. Once there, the guide will tell us the story of this other ancient city that was buried by the ashes and lava of Vesuvius. For 2 hours, we'll discover the main remains of the city, and we'll see places such as the House of the Faun, the Amphitheatre and the House of Menander.
After visiting the archaeological site, we'll take a break to enjoy a plate of pasta or a pizza in a typical Pompeian restaurant. Can you think of a better way to end the day?
Then, 8 hours later, we'll return to the starting point in Naples.
