On this bamboo raft ride along the Rio Nuevo, you’ll enjoy a journey through one of Jamaica’s most idyllic natural spots, nestled in the hills of St. Mary Parish.
At the indicated time, we’ll pick you up at your hotel in Ocho Ríos and take you to the area of the Rio Nuevo, where we’ll enjoy a pleasant bamboo raft ride. Are you ready for an unforgettable experience?
Although these rafts were originally used to transport goods between towns, they have now become one of the must-do tourist activities when visiting Jamaica.
During the ride along the crystal-clear waters of the Rio Nuevo, a small river flowing down from the hills of St. Mary Parish, you’ll have the chance to enjoy the natural beauty of the island, including the forests and vegetation growing along the riverbanks.
Throughout the 1-hour ride, we’ll also be able to observe typical scenes on the riverbanks, such as locals washing clothes and cars, or children splashing in the water.
Before finishing the route, we’ll make a stop at a handmade souvenir shop along the riverbank, where you’ll have 1 hour of free time to search for a reminder of this unique experience if you wish.
Finally, we’ll start the return journey to the starting point, where we’ll say goodbye after a total duration of 3 hours.
