Troodos, Kykkos + Omodos Day Trip
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Paphos to set off on our exciting day trip to Troodos, Kykkos and Omodos. Off we go!
Our first stop of the day is at the Troodos Mountains, where we'll visit the Chrysorrogiatissa Monastery. This sacred site, dating back to the 12th century, invites you to marvel at its unique and stylistic architecture.
As we continue our journey, take in the breathtaking scenery of the Troodos Mountains, adorned with vineyards that have been producing some of Cyprus's finest white wines since the late 18th century, including the renowned Ayios Andronicos and Ayios Elias varieties. Keep your eyes peeled for a glimpse into the valley where the serene Kannaviou dam lives.
Next up is Kykkos, and our journey will lead us through the enchanting Paphos forest. Upon reaching the Kykkos Monastery, we'll guide you through the site, unravelling its rich history. We'll come to the tomb of Archbishop Makarios III, and we'll share the intriguing details of his life and the significance of his resting place.
Our route continues as we make our way to the Timios Stravos Monastery, renowned for its impressive 25-meter (82 feet) high cross that offers a panoramic view of the Marathassa Valley. Upon arrival, you'll have ample free time to savor lunch and soak in the captivating vistas that surround this picturesque monastery.
Then, it's off to Omodos. Our route will lead us through a fragrant pine forest, passing through Prodromos, the highest village in Cyprus, and Platres, renowned as the most tourist-friendly village.
Once in Omodos, we'll stroll cobblestone streets, culminating in the main square full of cafes and shops. Before concluding our visit, we'll visit the Church of the Holy Cross.
Finally, after an immersive and enriching 8 hours of exploration, we'll return to your hotel and bring the day to an end.
