Cockscomb Jaguar Sanctuary Day Trip
At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Placencia and drive to one of the most breathtaking protected areas found in Belize's hinterland: the Cockscomb Basin Wildlife Sanctuary.
We'll begin our tour of this nature reserve by visiting its world-famous jaguar sanctuary. Here, we'll learn all about one of the principal feline conservation projects in the Caribbean. This sanctuary houses over 200 jaguars that live in this vast jungle habitat.
After seeing the jaguars, we'll take a short walk through the reserve so you can take a closer look at the beautiful scenery on the eastern slopes of the Maya Mountains. We'll then take a short break and have a lovely picnic lunch sat in the middle of nature.
Once we've eaten, we'll continue walking through the Cockscomb rainforest until we reach one of its main waterfalls. You'll have 30 minutes of free time to take a refreshing dip in the waterfall and admire the beautiful scenery that frames it.
Lastly, we'll return to the starting point of our walking route and take the highway back to Placencia, where our arrival at your hotel is scheduled for 3:30 pm.
