Buggy Tour
When making your booking, you can choose either of the two following routes:
Half-day tour (4 hours)
We'll meet up at Avenida João Bosco Mota Amaral and, leaving from Ponta Delgada, the capital of Sao Miguel, we'll jump on board our buggies and head to the northwest of the island. Venturing through the natural green inland countryside, we'll reach the crater of the Sete Cidades volcano, with breathtaking views of the blue and green lagoons- one of the seven natural wonders of Portugal.
We'll stop at various viewpoints to really take in the impressive lagoon surroundings, and once we've enjoyed the incredible panoramic views, we'll climb back on our buggies and return to the meeting point.
Full-day tour (8 hours)
The first part of this tour will be exactly the same as the half-day option, but after visiting the crater and the north-eastern lagoons of Sao Miguel, we'll head towards the Baia do Silêncio bay, where we'll take a break and replenish our energy with a buffet lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, we'll set off for the Vista do Rei viewpoint, one of the most incredible views of the lagoons and its surroundings. Finally, we'll make our way to the Laguna de Santiago, and the Cerrado das Freiras Viewpoint, before concluding the route in the same place in Ponta Delgada where we started the tour.
Important Information
- To drive the buggy you must have a valid driving license which you must show to the guide on the day of the tour. It is not compulsory to drive the buggy.
- If you do not have a driving license or you simply do not wish to drive, you can still take the tour by being a passenger in the guide's or a friend's vehicle. The price is per person and the activity costs the same both for drivers and passengers.
- Before starting the activity, participants that wish to drive must sign a liability statement.
