Tour Details
We'll pick you up at the indicated time at your hotel in Popayán and drive to the north of the department of Cauca. After a 1.5-hour drive, we'll arrive in Silvia, a town nestled in a valley of the Cordillera Central of Colombia.
At first sight, you'll be impressed by the green landscapes surrounding this Colombian municipality, which is known as the 'Switzerland of America'. We'll take a guided tour of Silvia, getting to know its main attractions, including the welcome sign, the Nuestra Señora de Chiquinquirá parish church and the Belén viewpoint, from where we will have a panoramic view of the town. In addition, if you take the tour on Tuesday, we will also visit the indigenous market, a vibrant space of cultural and commercial exchange.
At midday, we'll have a break to enjoy a typical lunch that includes a fish, meat, or grilled chicken, accompanied by side dishes and a drink.
We'll then depart for the region of Guambia, where we'll visit Casa Payán, an important place for the preservation of ancestral medicine. Here we'll learn about the use of native medicinal plants, their preparation and their health benefits. We'll also explore a botanical garden of medicinal and ancestral plants, while learning about the Misak cosmovision and their connection with nature.
Finally, we will return to Popayán, arriving at your hotel after 7 hours later.
