Want to explore Porto by land and water? Join us on this tuk-tuk tour that includes the Six Bridges Cruise along the Douro. You can also extend the experience with a winery visit and tasting.
Tour Details
On the day of the activity, we'll meet at Rua do Corpo da Guarda 18 and set off on a tuk-tuk tour through Porto.
We'll wind through the streets of the old town and its ancient walls, taking in São Bento Station and then the Porto Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Romanesque architecture in Portugal, with its compact form, thick walls, and fortress-like appearance.
We'll continue to the Avenida dos Aliados, a grand urban boulevard lined with institutional buildings and eclectic late 19th- and early 20th-century architecture. In this area, we'll pass by the Igreja do Carmo and Igreja dos Carmelitas, two adjoining Baroque Rococo churches known for their striking azulejo-tiled side facades.
We'll then head to the Clérigos Tower, one of Porto's most iconic landmarks, and on to Livraria Lello, widely considered one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world.
From there, we'll make our way along Rua das Taipas to Miragaia and the Ribeira, with its magnificent views over the Douro River, passing through a stretch of medieval and modern streets with narrow plots, balconied facades, and architecture that adapts to the hillside topography.
After 50 minutes on the tuk-tuk, you'll receive your ticket for the six bridges cruise. You'll then enjoy a boat trip along the Douro, passing under the famous viaducts that connect Gaia with Porto.
